Teachers Association calls for resuming TSC exam interview

REPUBLICA

KATHMANDU, Jan 13: All Nepal Teachers Association has claimed that the scheduled interview of those candidates passing the Teachers´ Service Commission (TSC) written examinations (open competition) held in the month of Jeth 2070 BS was put off due to political influence.

It may be noted that the TSC on December 26, 2013 announced the postponement of the interview of secondary/lower secondary-levels and publication of results of primary-level, following the directions of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).

Association Chairman Lal Bahadur BC and General Secretary Ghanashyam Pathak have said that although it is usual the CIAA investigating alleged weaknesses and faults in the examinations process, it is wrong to halt the entire process.

In a joint press statement on Monday, they have urged the TSC to immediately resume the interview and results publication bearing in mind sentiments of those candidates completing the written examinations. The TSC was further urged to work independently and keep it free from any sorts of political and other influences.

The fifth extended meeting of the Association concluded here recently decided to launch a three-month organizational drive titled ´Integrated Educational Campaign 2070 BS´ from January 15 to April 13.
