  Nona Memorial journalism award to Niraula

BIRATNAGAR, Dec 12: Morang President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Bikram Niraula, is going to be awarded with the Nona Koirala Memorial Journalism Award-2070.

A meeting of the Nona Koirala Memorial National Journalism Award selection Committee, held in Kathmandu today decided this.

Member of the award selection committee, Kumod Adhikari, said that the award is going to be presented to Niraula for his contribution to the movement of press freedom and freedom of expression.

Niraula is active in the campaign of ensuring personal security of journalists and guarantee of their profession.

The award carries a purse of Rs. 25,000 and a letter of honour.

Niraula is the Biratnagar correspondent of BBC Nepali Service and Chairman of the Udghos Daily.

The award was established five year ago and the award would be presented on the death anniversary of Koirala.
