OKHALDHUNGA, March 4: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that an election government headed by Chief Justice Khilaraj Regmi would be formed within the next two days and the same government would conduct the Constituent Assembly (CA) election within mid-June.
Opening the golden jubilee celebrations of Yugkavi Siddicharan Shrestha Higher Secondary School here on Monday, PM Bhattarai who is also the Vice Chairman of UCPN (Maoist), said the proposal to constitute a CJ-led government was for promulgating a federal constitution through the CA.
"People´s rights should be ensured with the drafting of a new constitution through the CA", the PM said, adding that the present government was ready to sacrifice anything to ensure a new constitution.
"The political parties had agreed to a CJ-led government and our party proposed CJ Regmi to take up the government leadership", Dr Bhattarai added.
Meanwhile, the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress boycotted the programme , citing the PM accompanied UCPN (Maoist) leader Balkrishha Dhungel, convicted of murder by the Supreme Court.
