Preparations for Midas CAN Info-Tech at final stage
KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Preparations for Midas CAN Info-Tech 2013 are at a final stage.
Organizing a press meet in the capital on Tuesday, Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) - the organizer of the event - gave a sneak preview of the 19th edition of the mega ICT event that kicks off at Bhrikuti Mandap on February 6.
According to the organizers, exhibitors will showcase interesting products like palm size projectors, solar inverters, and mobile phones and tablets with Window 8 operating system, among others.
Speaking at the press meet, CAN President Binod Dhakal said the exhibitors were all prepared to launch the latest ICT products and locally developed software and applications at the Info-Tech. “Visitors will get to see the latest ICT products that may be a laptop, tablet or a mobile handset,” he added.
Title sponsor Midas Technologies is launching Midas eClass - animated teaching software -- at the event. Chhatra Hari Kari, managing director of Midas Technologies, said the major objective of the eClass was to make teaching interesting and more effective.
Similarly, Neoteric Nepal will showcase Lumia phones that use Windows 8 operating system, low-priced tablets, educational software, and Dell Laptop, among others.
State-owned Nepal Telecom will provide information about newly launched WiMax Internet and EVDO service to the visitors.
Nikita Bhimsaariya of Generation Next said they would showcase wide range of Dell laptops, printers, and palm size projectors, among others. “We will offer Windows 8 operating system free with Dell laptops for college students,” she added.
S Power will launch latest solar invertors from 100 VA to 15 KVA at the Info-Tech.
Amrit Kumar Pant, general secretary of CAN, said companies dealing on hardware sales and maintenance, power solution, mobile accessories, telecommunications and ISP, ICT training and colleges, software developers, would participate in the Info-Tech.
The Info-Tech will have a total of 220 stalls, including 40 branding pavilions.
CAN is also organizing 13th ICT Conference on the sidelines of the event. The conference will be held on February 8 and 9 on the theme ´Promoting e-Democracy in Nepal´.
The conference will feature speakers from countries like Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Bangladesh, among others, according to CAN.
