  PM pays tribute to martyrs on occasion of Martyrs' Day

KATHMANDU, Jan 29: On the final day ofthe Martyrs´ Week and the Martyrs Day, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has paid a condolence to both known and unknown martyrs at the Martyr Memorial Park in Lainchaur on Tuesday morning.

The Prime Minister garlanded the martyrs´ statutes. On the occasion, a contingent of Nepal Army paid a guard of honour.

Top-level government officials, security officers and a large number of common people were present on the occasion.

Likewise, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav is also scheduled to attend the Martyrs Memorial Park this afternoon to pay tributes to the martyrs.

Kathmandu Metropolis had organized a martyrs´ week from January 23 (Magh 10).

Such programmes to pay tributes were also organized at Teku where Shukra Raj Shastri attained martyrdom and at Sifal where Dharma Bhakta Mathema attained martyrdom. Similarly, the programmes were organized at Shovabhagawati where Gangalal and Dasarath Chand attained martyrdom to pay tribute.
