POKHARA, Jan 26: Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that NC will hold fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) poll by May end if the Maoists hand over government leadership to his party.
Talking to media persons at Pokhara airport on Saturday, Paudel also accused Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of frequently changing his stances to prolong stay in power.
“Nepali Congress can guarantee polls by May end if the party is allowed to lead the government,” he said.
Arguing that Maoists are not ready for polls, Paudel said, “We will not accept Maoist leadership because they are not sincere about holding fresh polls. They have refused to hand over government leadership to us fearing we would hold fresh polls,” he added.
