KATHMANDU, Jan 25: The government has appointed former justice Abadhesh Kumar Yadav as the Chairman of Nepal Press Council. A cabinet meeting held on Friday appointed Yadav for the next four years. The post was lying vacant after Narayan Prasad Sharma retired after his four-year term expired recently.
Former Supreme Court justice Yadav had courted several controversies for his verdicts, including the one concerning the writs related to former UCPN (Maoist) lawmaker Keshav Rai.
The cabinet meeting on Friday also appointed Dharmendra Kumar Morbaita ´Pappu´ as Chairman of Nepal Film Development Board.
