CHITWAN, Jan 22: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala came down heavily against UCPN (Maoist) on Tuesday accusing them of being irresponsible towards the people.
Speaking at a program to mark death of democratic fighter Shyam Krishna Pradhan in Naryanghat on Tuesday, Koirala warned UCPN (Maoist) leaders that they would end up with fate of Rana, Panchayats and former King if they continue with threats.
Referring to Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s public comment of tearing up past agreements, the NC president warned the Maoist supreme to stop making such irresponsible comments.
“You laid your weapons after failing to establish what you desired despite fighting for ten years. It’s high time you stop threatening,” Koirala warned Dahal.
“What would you do with your weapons? Kill Sushil Koirala? But you can never kill my ideologies,” the veteran leader warned.
He made it clear that his party would never give up the democratic values and norms.
“Maoists never obey rule of law. They threat us when we urge them to oblige it,” Koirala added, “Ranas threatened people, and even Pachayats and former king did that. You must be aware about their conditions now.”
