KATHMANDU, Jan 8: Chief of the Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher JBR on Tuesday received the title of honorary rank of General of the Indian Army from Indian President Pranab Mukherjee amid a special function in New Delhi.
According to the press statement issued by the Directorate of Public Relations of the Nepal Army (NA), the title was conferred on CoAS Rana at Rastrapati Bhawan. CoAS Rana is on an eight-day visit to India at the invitation of Indian Army Chief Gen Bikram Singh.
According to DPR, the delegation led by CoAS Rana on Monday met Indian Defense Minister AK Antony and attended a dinner party hosted by his Indian counterpart. CoAS Rana on Tuesday held a meeting with National Security Advisor Shiva Shankar Menon and visited Defense and Research Organization (DRDO).
Rana is scheduled to visit Army War College in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
