BHAKTAPUR, Jan. 8: After complaints grew about the unruly activities of the uniformed students to the extent of indulging in the illicit activities in public places, the police in the district have decided to arrest such and take action.
Metropolis Police Circle Bhaktapur Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Puskar KC said if the students in uniform were found playing truant and indulging in illicit sexual activities in the public places, they would be apprehended to face punitive measures.
"This anti-bunking drive would be launched throughout the district thereby addressing the locals´ complaints of school children´s delinquencies," he added.
Bhaktapur is rich in the historical, cultural and religious sites which are nowadays thronged by the uniformed students during the school and college time.
The places frequented by such students are Siddhipokhari, Kamalpokhari, Brahmayani Temple of Chaymsingh, Suryabinayak and Ganesh Temple, Durbar Square, Changu Narayan Temple, Town planning of the Kamalbinayak and Sallaghari in the district.
Similarly, the police said if the students in uniform were found at cinema hall, hotel and guesthouse, they would be taken under control and necessary action would be taken.
