KATHMANDU, Dec 29: Noted Nepali Congress (NC) leader and former foreign minister Chakra Prasad Bastola has been admitted to Silguri-based Neuro Hospital after he suffered brain hemorrhage on Saturday. He is receiving treatment at the ICU of the hospital.
A team of Dr Siddhi Raj Sharma is attending to Bastola, said Keshav Raj Pandey, a Jhapa-based NC leader. He was rushed to BP Koirala Institute of Health Science (BPKIHS) in Dharan after he suddenly collapsed while attending a function at Birat Chowk, Morang.
BPKIHS confirmed that Bastola had suffered from hemorrhage and referred him to Kathmandu. However, he was taken to Siliguri after doctors suggested that airlifting to Kathmandu was fraught with risk considering his health condition.
