KATHMANDU, Dec. 28: The Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party (TMLP) on Friday hosted a tea reception on occasion of the fifth establishment day of the party.
Various political leaders including Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress leader Gopalman Shrestha, CPN (UML) senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, former Prime Ministers Surya Bahadur Thapa and Lokendra Bahadur Chand joined the reception.
Senior government officers, senior officers of security bodies, media persons, intellectuals, business community and commoners were also present on the occasion.
The reception organized at Kalikasthan-based Amrit Bhog ran from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
Despite request from journalists, Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai and Dahal declined to give reaction about the present political situation in the country.
TMLP Chairman Thakur said his party was ready to seek a solution to the present political crisis in the country through consensus. "An alternative to the incumbent government should be sought within from the collation partners".
Similarly, UML leader Nepal said the proposal to reinstate the Constituent Assembly had no meaning and it was just intended to lengthen the stay in power, he added
