  Rajan Memorial reaches semifinal

KATHMANDU, Dec 5: Rajan Memorial International School secured semifinal berth in the Sixth Chief of the Army Staff Inter School Running Cricket Tournament on Wednesday. Rajan Memorial thrashed Brihaspati Vidhyasadan by eight wickets at Army School, Bhaktapur and secured top position on the group B points table.

Rajan Memorial will take on Galaxy Public School in the semifinal while host Army School will lock horns with Greenland Children Academy Higher Secondary School on Thursday.

Brihaspati elected to bat and was all out for mere 46 runs in 14.1 overs. Ayush Regmi (10 runs) was the highest scorer for Brihaspati while Anil MC took three wickets for Rajan Memorial. Rahul Mishra and Sujan Chapagain claimed two wickets each.

Rajan Memorial chased the low score in 8.4 overs losing only two wickets. Bivek Kumar Yadav scored unbeaten 15 runs and Santosh Thapa added 14 runs to seal the match for Rajan Memorial.

Sujan Chapagain of Rajan Memorial was adjudged man-of-the-match for his brilliant bowling figure of 3-1-9-2.

In a battle of already crashed out teams, English Preparatory School (EPS) thrashed Deepjyoti School by 62 runs on Wednesday. EPS elected to bat and was all out for 115 runs in 16.1 overs as Sweekar Khanal scored 25 runs off 24 balls. Sushil Thapa took four wickets for Deepjyoti while Ganesh Bhandari and Hari Adai claimed two wickets each.

Man-of-the-match Kulbhusan Shah claimed five wickets to bowl out Deepjyoti for 53 runs in 11 overs. None of the Deepjyoti batsmen could reach the double digit scores. Sweekar Khanal took two wickets to make EPS victory easier.
