KATHMANDU, Nov 28: As many as 35 companies are participating in the Nepa Construction Expo that kicks off at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall this Friday.

Speaking at a press meet organized in the capital on Wednesday, the organizers said all the stalls in the five-day expo have already been booked. “Thirty-five companies have already confirmed their participation,” Ram Sharan Deuja, managing director of Nepa Construction - the organizer of the event, said. “Seven companies dealing on heavy equipment will feature their products at the heavy equipment pavilion outside the main exhibition hall.”

The heavy equipment pavilion will have 16 stalls which will showcase construction equipment like loader, bulldozer, crane, excavator, road roller and tipper, among others. The main exhibition hall will have 70 stalls.

Deuja also said preparations for the event have already been completed. “The exhibitors have already started to set up their stalls,” he added.

According to the organizers, the event will feature various kinds of construction equipments and services.

“The main objective behind organizing the expo is to create a platform for service providers and potential customers to interact,” he said, adding that the event will be also beneficial in raising awareness among consumers about the quality of construction materials.

Deuja said they were targeting total footfall of 35,000 during the five-day event. “We have formally invited more than 30,000 visitors,” he added.

The organizers have also organized road shows in five development regions to promote the event. On the sidelines of the event, entrepreneurs are also holding a workshop which aims to inform people about the construction materials and the technology involved.

Experts will also be presenting working papers on ´Enhancing Construction Environment for Better Tomorrow´.

The organizers are holding Business Day on Saturday. “We are hopeful of seeing encouraging participation of construction entrepreneurs on that day,” he added.

Muskan Interior, Kitchen Trade Link, Niliha Water Treatment, SME Group, Yeti Tile and Bricks, Malati Ply House and Shakha Steel are some of the industries participating in the event.
