  Chhath concludes with offering to rising sun

JANAKPURDHAM, Nov 20: Devotees observing a fast concluded their Chhath rituals by making offerings to the rising sun on Tuesday.

The Chhath festival concludes with the devotees praying the rising sun on the fourth day of the festival. On the fourth day of the festival, the fast is broken and the devotees observing the fasting can eat special sweets made for the occasion and fruits.

This ritual of breaking the fast on the fourth day of the festival is called Paran.

It is believed that worshipping the rising sun on this particular day of the festival helps treat skin diseases and one is blessed with offspring and wealth.
