KATHMANDU, Nov.16: The government has prohibited the general public and private security companies from wearing combat dresses and insignias used by the government security bodies.
In a press statement today, the Ministry of Home Affairs has said that it has totally banned the use of combat dresses and insignias by the general public and private companies, citing for controlling its misuse.
"Cases of swindling and looting by misusing combat dress were reported in the past and the Ministry has decided to ban its use by the public to avert such cases in the future", the statement adds.
Besides, the incumbent government security personnel and even retired government security employees at home and abroad have not been allowed to wear combat dresses and using insignias except on duty and other government functions.
"Action will be taken as per the existing law if anyone is found not abiding by this notice", the Ministry adds in the press note.
