  PM, leaders, former king receive bhaitika

KATHMANDU, Nov. 15: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai received bhai tika from his elder sister Thir Kumari Parajuli and younger sister Parbati Sharma at the auspicious hour of 11:23 am this morning.

PM Dr. Bhattarai had gone to the house of his younger brother Shiva Bhattarai at Koteswor in the capital for receiving tika on the occasion of the Bhai Tika festival, today.

Meanwhile, while talking to journalists before the tika, Bhattarai claimed that consensus will be reached on all disputed issues by third week of November and Constituent Assembly (CA) election will be declared by fourth week of November.

Former king receives bhai tika

Members of the former royal family received bhai tika at the auspicious hour of 11: 23 am this morning on the occasion of Bhai Tika festival.

Former queen mother Ratna Shah gave tika to her younger brother Sushil Shumsher Rana at Mahendra Manjil in Narayanhity palace.

Likewise, former King Gyanendra Shah received bhai tika from his younger sister Shova Shahi at Shova Griha, Kamaladi in the capital, said Shah´s Personal Secretariat Secretary Faniraj Pathak.

Former queen Komal Shah also gave bhai tika to younger brothers Suraj and Udaya Shamsher Rana, said Pathak.

Leaders receive tika

Party leaders also received bhai tika on the auspicious hour of 11:23 am today. NC President Sushil Koirala took tika from younger sister Shashi Sharma at Bafal in Kathmandu.

Leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chandra Poudel did not celebrate Dashain and Tihar because of mourning. CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal received tika from his elder sister at Jungekhadi of Jhapa district and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal took tika at the house of younger sister Indira Neupane at Kupondol.

Also receiving tika were his younger brothers Binod Nepal and Saroj Nepal from his elder sister Kalika Bhandari, younger sisters Indira and Basuda Pokhrel.

RJP Chairman Surya Bahadur Thapa took tika from his younger sisters Manju Thapa, Shanti Sijapati and Samjhana Karki and RPP Chairman Pashupati Shamsher JB Rana from younger sister Jaya Rajya Laxmi Shah, and RPP- Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa from younger sisters Bimala Bista, Rita Thapa and Basu Karki.

However, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav did not celebrate tika due to cultural reasons, said the presidents´ Press Advisor, Rajendra Dahal. Not celebrating tika were UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and UCPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya
