  BUSINESS BRIEFS: KIST holds 11th AGM

KATHMANDU, Nov 12: KIST Bank held its 11th annual general meeting here on Monday, which among others, unanimously elected new board directors for the tenure of next four years. According to a press release, directors elected unanimously from promoter shareholders group include Ram Prasad Dahal, Kamal Prasad Gyawali, Gyan Bahadur GC and Bishnu Gopal Shrestha.

Likewise, Achyut Raj Joshi and Kumar Keshar Bista has been unanimously elected as the board director from among the public shareholders. During the AGM, the bank also provided scholarships to five students from the KIST Revolving Fund.

Rahman new Chairman of NB Bank

KATHMANDU
: Nepal Bangladesh (NB) Bank has appointed Mohammed Lufthar Rahman, representative of IFIC Bank -- NB Bank´s joint venture partner, as the new chairman of its board. The 216th board meeting of the bank appointed Rahman as the chairman after the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) gave its nod to the IFIC to acquire promoter shares of NB Group, the Nepali partner, the bank said issuing a press statement. The bank has also appointed Durga Man Shrestha as the new director in the board in place of Jit Bahadur Shrestha, who recently tendered his resignation. “Likewise, Madhav Prasad Neupane has been appointed the commercial director of the bank,” concludes the release.

Bajajtantra´s 6th week winners announced

: Hansraj Hulaschand (HH) and Company -- the authorized distributor of Bajaj motorbikes in Nepal -- has announced the sixth week winners of its Bajajtantra festive scheme. According to a press statement, Lochan Dhamala of Dhanighat-8, Morang has won cash prize of Rs 500,000, while Bhim Bahadur Khatri of Gaidakot-5, Nawalparasi won a 40-inch Samsung LED TV. Shyam Rumba Lama of Hetauda won 20 grams gold and Lalku Chaudhary of Akemba-9, Itahari won foreign trip for a couple. Likewise, Binod DC of Duvuwa-8, Dang has won Dell laptop, while Sanjib K Shah of Phulgama-6, Mahottari and Ashish Lohani of Palpa has won a Samsung refrigerator and a Nokia smartphone, respectively. Under the scheme, people can win instant cash discount up to Rs 100,000 through scratch card at the time of buying any Bajaj bike. “Every week, seven consumers can participate on the scheme offer and win gifts by voting for their desired prizes through lucky draw,” said the statement.

ShubhaLaxmi to distribute 5.75% cash dividend

KATHMANDU
: ShubhaLaxmi Finance Ltd has decided to distribute 5.75 percent cash dividend to its shareholders from the profit it earned in 2011/12. The finance company made public its decision after its fifth annual general meeting (AGM) endorsed the financial statements and dividend distribution proposal on Monday. According to a press release, the company mobilized deposits of Rs 588.9 million and invested Rs 512.6 million as of mid-July 2012. From the transactions, it earned operating profit of Rs 20.3 million and net profit of Rs 12.7 million in the last fiscal year. Among others, the AGM also unanimously elected Achyut Ballabh Pant, Mohan Dev Pant, Rara Sharma, Jay Prakash Agrawal and Dilip Narsingh Adhikari as the new directors of the company´s board.
