  Finance minister meets PM

REPUBLICA ONLINE

KATHMANDU, Nov 12: Finance Minister Barshaman Pun called on Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai at the latter´s office in Singha Durbar on Monday.

During the meeting, Minister Pun informed the prime minister that the finance ministry completed all works related to new budget.

Likewise, Minister Pun is scheduled to meet President Ram Baran Yadav later this afternoon to apprise him of the new budget, which the president needs to endorse before its promulgation.

Of late, there has been a major difference seen between the ruling parties and the opposition parties regarding the new budget.

The opposition parties, including Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, have been rejecting the idea of the government introducing new budget through ordinance without forging consensus among political parties.
