KATHMANDU, Nov 11: HP has launched ´HP Buy & Win Offer´ in Nepal under in which customers buying any HP product worth Rs 5,000 and above will get a coupon that gives them a chance to win HP Envy laptops. The offer is available through all authorized HP distributors and partners throughout the country, a statement issued by the company said on Sunday.
"HP brings together a portfolio that spans printing, personal computing, software, services and IT infrastructure at the convergence of the cloud and connectivity, creating seamless, secure, context-aware experiences for a connected world," said the statement.
Etihad Airways turns good samaritan
KATHMANDU: Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, donated different materials to elderly citizen and children through two non-governmental organizations in Kathmandu as part of its corporate social responsibility, a press statement of the airlines said. Staff from the airline’s head office in Abu Dhabi joined local colleagues to deliver care parcels, consisting packed lunches and blankets while visiting old age homes and children homes. The airlines provided the kits to Prayas Nepal’s children´s home and Aamako Ghar -- a non-profit organization founded by philanthropist Dil Shova Shrestha to help abandoned elderly people.
“Etihad Airways is committed to active participation in causes that assist people and communities across its global network. As winter is quickly approaching, we hope that our donation will assist the elderly citizens and young orphans brave the cold and bring a smile to their faces,” Pawana Shrestha, Etihad Airways Country Manager, said in the statement.
Himalayan Life starts recycling plastic bottles
KATHMANDU: Himalaya Life Plastic and Paschimanchal Hotel Association Pokhara (PHAP) have started a recycling campaign to minimize waste production. Issuing a statement on Sunday, the association said Himalaya Life Plastic has started recycling work with the objective to make the city cleaner. Under the campaign, the plastic company has announced to purchase one liter plastic bottle of beverage at 50 paisa and bigger bottles at one rupee. To recycle the bottles, the company has purchased an advanced machine from Shanghai, China. “This campaign will be beneficial in making Pokhara pollution free,” the statement quoted Biplab Paudel, PHAP president, as saying. Himalaya Life Plastic is planning to keep more than 500 containers particularly in Lakeside to collect recyclable plastic bottles.
Teletalk unveils Fighter F-17+
KATHMANDU: Teletalk -- the authorized distributor of Colors mobile in Nepal -- has launched Colors Fighter F-17+ in the Nepali market. According to a press statement issued on Sunday, F-17+ comes with 2.4 inch QVGA screen along with other various extra features. "The inbuilt audio and video player of the phone supports 3GP, MP4 and AVI formats, allowing users to watch videos," the statement said adding that the phone´s 1800 mAh battery gives longer time and freedom from frequent charging.
