KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Kathmandu College of Management (KCM) and Kathmandu University School of Medical Science (KUSMS) entered the semi-finals of the First KU Cup T20 Cricket Tournament.
KCM defeated KUSMS by two wickets in a group stage match on Friday to reach the final as the winner of pool A. KUSMS elected to bat and was all out in 18.3 overs with 113 runs on board, which KCM successfully chased down in 17.1 overs losing eight wickets.
Amit Singh scored 42 runs for KUSMS while Aditya Shrestha and Bhibhusit Chaudhary claimed three wickets each for KCM. In the successful run-chase, Shivir Karki (23 runs) and Aditya Shrestha (21 runs) were the highest contributors for KCM. Niroj Jung Thapa claimed four wickets for KUSMS but could not stop KCM from winning the match.
However, KUSMS qualified for the semi-final as Little Angel´s College of Management (LACM) defeated Nepal Medical College (NMC) by five wickets on Friday at the KU Ground, Dhulikhel.
Had NMC won the match, it would have qualified for the semifinal. NMC put up 135/7 in 20 overs and LACM successfully reached 139/5 in 15.4 overs. Dipesh Shakya contributed 50 runs for LACM.
KCM will take on Kathmandu University and KUSMS will lock horns with Nepal College of Management (NCM) in the semi-finals on November 21.
