KATHMANDU, Nov. 9: Number of Nepali people going for foreign jobs increased by 22 per cent in the period from mid-September to mid-October as compared to the mid-July to mid -August in the current Fiscal Year 2069/ 2070 B.S.
According to the Department of Foreign Employment, a total of 27,098 persons had taken final labour permits from mid-July to mid August. It has increased to 34,827 in mid-September to mid-October.
According to Director General of the Department, Purnachandra Bhattarai, the number of people going for foreign jobs was increased in October as the festivals were late this year as compared to last year.
The Department had provided labor permits to 44,111 from mid-July to mid-August while it reached to 66,985 from mid-September to mid-October. It is up by 30 per cent from mid-September to mid-October compared to July and August.
The number of people to go to Malaysia and Saudi Arabia had increased of late, said Director General Bhattarai.
