REPUBLICA ONLINE

KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Russian ambassador to Nepal Sergey V. Velichkin called on CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal at the UML central office, Balkhu on Friday.

During the meeting, envoy Velichkin inquired about the ongoing political impasse, upcoming budget and way out of the current political imbroglio in the country, according to a press statement issued by the party today.

On the occasion, the Russian envoy expressed his concerns over the existing environment of mistrust among political forces in the country.

In respons, the UML chief expressed his belief that main political forces of the country would soon find a point of consensus as it is the only way out for ending the current crisis.

Khanal also ruled out any possibility of bringing new budget prior to forging national consensus among the political parties.

Former prime minister Khanal expressed his hope that a new consensus government would replace the incumbent government soon.
