  NT to introduce WiMax service from Nov 12

KATHMANDU, Nov. 8: Nepal Telecom is to bring into service WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), a high-speed broadband internet service with effect from coming November 12.

The WiMax service shall begin from the valley with a target on business houses, hospitals, educational institution, financial institutions, tourism entrepreneurs, government and non-government organizations, says a press statement issued by the Telecom here on Thursday.

The NTC also claims WiMax to be the most fastest internet service available today, with a capacity of transferring 256 kilobite of data per second.
In the second phase the service will be expanded to Pokhara and Bhairahawa, and then across Nepal within a year, adds the statement
