  Koirala holds parley with Dahal

KATHMANDU, Nov 8: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala along with other party leaders met UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter´s residence in Lazimpat on Thursday.

The meeting which lasted for about 30 minutes, however, failed to yield any result. The meeting dwelt on contemporary political issues, primarily the unveiling of new full-fledged budget.

"They insisted on the Baburam Bhattarai-led consensus government," NC Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel said, adding, "We however disagreed on the idea and exited from the meeting."

According to Paudel, the Maoist chair had sought an agreement on Bhattarai-led consensus government and an approval on full-fledged budget.

"Both fresh polls and full budget by this government will be unacceptable to us unless a consensus government is formed," Paudel reiterated.

He also informed that the NC would now move ahead with its protest pro
