A he-goat was sold at Rs. 5000 to 15,000 during the fair organised on the day of the Saptami (Fulpati).(break]

A total of 17,635 goats and Billy goats were sold during this Dashain in Jumla markets, in which the contribution of local goats was 98.43 per cent.

Remaining others were brought into from Kalikot, Bajura and Dailekh district. According to the District Livestock Office, Jumla, transactions of goats on this Dashain stood at over Rs. 10 million.

Until last year, thousands of goats used to be imported in the district from China during the Dashain festival, but this year local product was sufficient to meet the demand and the district famers were paid off-off well.
