KIRTIPUR, Oct. 17: Kin of Prakash Maharjan and Machchhindra Maharjan who were killed in microbus-hit at Kirtipur this morning have agreed to receive the bodies and take them for post-mortem following talks between them and Kirtipur Minibus Entrepreneurs committee.
The bodies have been taken to the Star Hospital, Sanepa of Lalitpur for autopsy.During the two-side meeting, the Committee agreed to provide compensation to the victims´ families and bear the treatment cost of injured Dewananda Shahi.
The accident had taken place at 4:30 am this morning.
Microbus mows down two pedestrians to death in Kirtipur (REPUBLICA ONLINE)
Two pedestrian have died and one injured after being hit by a microbus at Khasibazar, Kirtipur in the capital on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Machhendra Maharjan and Prakash Maharjan of Kirtipur.
The microbus (Ba 2 Kha 1892) hit the duo while they were in morning walk.
The injured Devendra Shahi is currently undergoing treatment at Star Hospital.
The microbus was allegedly being driven by its conductor and he is absconding following the incident, police informed.
Police have impounded the vehicle and are searching for the driver.
Vehicular movement has been obstructed in the area, after the locals took to the streets to protest the incident.
