REPUBLICA ONLINE

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai called on President Ram Baran Yadav at the latter´s official residence in Shital Niwas on Tuesday.

During the meeting, President Yadav urged the prime minister to forge consensus at the earliest as it has no alternative  to end the current deadlock.

Prime Minister Bhattarai had reached Shital Niwas this morning to discuss the current crisis amidst growing rift between the two.

Emerging from the meeting, PM Bhattarai said, “We discussed the current political impasse and ways to end it and decided to move ahead together to give the country an outlet," adding that there is no misunderstanding between him and president in recent days.

In the three-hour meeting, they also said to have agreed to clear growing misunderstanding between them and reached a mutual understanding.

President Yadav has called political parties in Sheetal Niwas for Friday to discuss the existing crisis and find ways to resolve it.
