REPUBLICA

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: In 2009, Yudina Poudel, 24, joined Subisu Cablenet Pvt Ltd as marketing assistant. Poudel juggles between her BBA course at Study of Ancient and New Nepal (SANN) International and her full-time work at Subisu Cablenet.

Recently promoted to the position of a Sales Officer, Poudel converses with Republica, on her professional life.

Why did you choose to join Subisu Cablenet?

I was bored from doing nothing and wanted to use my extra time to be productive. I always wanted to work in the IT field to enhance my knowledge about the subject and Subisu was the best platform that I could have joined.

How has your work experience been, so far?

Great. All my supervisors and co-workers are very supportive. Plus, what I do at work goes hand in hand with what I’m studying at college, so it’s easy for me to relate.

What’s the nature of your job?

Out of the various tasks I perform, the main task is to bring in new clients and work as an intermediary between the clients and the company. While handling such a position, one is required to be very persuasive and professional while doing so.

How tough is balancing work and studies?

It’s pretty challenging. Sometimes, you have to miss important classes at college to attend to work responsibilities and vice versa. But the fact that I already will have work experience by the time I graduate compensates for the hard work I put in now.

Career-wise, where do you see yourself in the future?

I want to open my own business. I’m very interested in culinary arts. So I would like to start something of my own in this field.
