Discount, offers galore on two-wheelers this festive season
KATHMANDU, Oct 10: In a bid to boost sales, dealers of leading two-wheelers have announced special discounts and offers for the Dashain-Tihar festive season when sales grow by around increased 50 percent compared to normal days.
According to traders, sales during the period contribute around 30 to 35 percent of total annual sales.
Hansraj Hulaschand and Company -- the authorized distributor of Bajaj motorcycles --has introduced ´Bajajtantra´ scheme under which customers can vote for the prizes they want. Customers can win cash prize of Rs 500,000, gold, laptop, foreign trip, refrigerator, smartphone and discount up to Rs 100,000 through scratch coupon.
“We are targeting to sell around 5,000 bikes during the campaign period provided that the issue of Euro 3 is resolved and bikes stuck in customs are released on time ,” Shekhar Golchha, executive director of Hansraj Hulaschand and Company, said. “But
To cash in on the Dashain festivity, Nepal General Marketing - the authorized distributor of Hero bikes in Nepal - is providing up to Rs 6,000 cash discount and Philips photo frame free with each purchase of Hero bikes and scooters. Besides, three lucky customers can win Philips 32-inch LCD each.
“We plan to sell 9,000 bikes through our 70 outlets across the country during Dashain and Tihar,” said Abheek Jyoti, director of Nepal General Marketing.
Another leading two-wheelers brand, Suzuki, has introduced scratch coupon through which buyers can get a minimum discount of Rs 10,000 and also win up to Rs 100,000 cash prize.
Syakar Company that represents Honda in Nepal has announced ‘Honda Dashain Tihar Harsollash Yojana’ for the festive season. Under the scheme, customers can win Rs 4,000 to Rs 100,000 cash discount through scratch card. Similarly, the company is offering 20 free servicing worth Rs 5,600 valid for five years and providing 10 percent discount on spare parts for five years.
Yamaha is offering Rs 10,000 flat discount. Suraj Manandhar, deputy general manager of MAW Enterprises, -- the authorized distributor of Yamaha bikes in Nepal - said they were targeting to sell 6,000 bikes during the campaign period.
Similarly, CG Automobiles is offering cash discount of up to Rs 10,000 on TVS motorcycles. The company expects to sell 1,400 units during the campaign period.
SG Global has launched ‘Damfu ma Tyap Tyap, Saat Lakh Jhyap’ offer Mahindra two-wheelers. Under the offer, customers get a scratch card on the purchase of Mahindra Flyte, Duro DZ and Rodeo RZ through which they can win cash prize of Rs 7,000 to Rs 700,000. It is also giving away Sharp 32-inch LED televisions as weekly bumper prize through a lucky draw.
Likewise, Agni Incorporated is providing Rs 20,000 discount on Demak DTM bikes.
