Judiciary has no concern with political deals: Chief Justice
REPUBLICA
KATHMANDU, Oct 9: Chief Justice Khilaraj Regmi said judiciary has no concern over the initiatives taken by political parties to reinstate the Constituent Assembly (CA) against the spirit of the Supreme Court.
Talking to the journalist at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) upon his arrival after his five-day long visit to Bhutan at the invitation of Bhutanese Chief Justice Lynpo Sonam Tobgye, Chief Justice Regmi said it was not better to speak anything about deals among the political parties as judiciary has to take decisions as per constitution and keeping the public interest in top priority.
He said he was influenced by the effective implementation of the Bhutanese Court´s verdicts. Efforts to finalize any cases within a year of registered in the Court and a simple method of implementation of court verdicts are worthy of imitation from Bhutan, he added.
During the visit, he held bilateral talks on judiciary work, and mutual cooperation with the officials of the Supreme Court, said Regmi.
