KATHMANDU, Oct 9: UCPN (Maoist) spokesperson Agni Prasad Sapkota on Tuesday said that a Nepali Congress-led government is acceptable to his party if NC agrees to promulgate the new constitution, briefly reinstating the dissolved Constituent Assembly, incorporating contentious issues agreed upon so far.
Speaking at an interaction held in the capital, Sapkota however, said the government would go for cabinet expansion if the ruling party´s proposal is rejected.
Stressing on the need of forging consensus within a week or two, he also cautioned against growing demand for the reinstatement of monarchy, of late.
Sapkota said his party is ready for promulgating the new constitution attaching the two reports by State Restructuring Commission as annexes.
Speaking at the same program, NC leader Arjun Narsingh KC, however, refused to accept the proposal and said the idea of CA reinstatement is not acceptable to his party.
He argued that his party would not back the CA reinstatement bid for the sake of prime ministerial post. He added his party is ready to go for new elections. He further said the reinstatement of CA is not the solution to the present crisis in the country.
