KATHMANDU, Oct 7: When the efforts are still on to forge consensus among the parties, senior Nepali Congress (NC) leaders on Sunday said that the UCPN (Maoist) has not been able to create favorable environment for consensus.
NC president Sushil Koirala and senior leaders--Sher Bahadur Deuba and Ram Chandra Paudel--made the statement publicly in a program at Dhadingbesi, Dhanding.
Koirala asked the Maoists to implement past agreements and create a favorable environment for consensus. "Though the Maoists have sought a month period, we don´t have a basis to count on them," Koirala said.
