  Tharuhat Terai, MPRF-D announce merger

GAJENDRA BOHORA

LAMAHI, Oct 4: Laxman Tharu-led Tharuhat Terai has decided to merge with Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (Democratic) led by Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar.

The announcement was made amid a program in presence of Tharu and Gachchhadar in Lamahi, Dang on Thursday.

Speaking at the program, Tharu claimed that MPRF-D is the only party that advocates for rights of ethnic groups including Madhesi.

"We are for a united Nepal not a divisive one but anti-federal forces are disintegrating the country," Tharu said, "But we would not let that happen. Tharus from across the country are ready to spill their blood for the unity."

Speaking at the same program, Gachchhadar said that they will now fight for rights of Tharu, dalits and Madhesi people. "We should now concentrate for decisive rights in the national politics," Gachchhadar added.
