  ANFA names U-14 team for exchange program

KATHMANDU, Sept 3: All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) on Wednesday named 16 players for the Kizuna Project Japan-SAARC U-14 Football Exchange Program to be held in Shizuoka, Japan from October 7-21.

According to a press statement issued by ANFA on Wednesday, the Nepali team will be leaving for Japan on October 6 to compete in the event. Altogether 10 teams -- eight SAARC countries and two teams from Japan -- will be competing in the event.

The teams will also participate in a cultural exchange program. The teams have been divided into two groups. Coaches Bal Gopal Maharjan, Sunil Shrestha and Mrigendra Mishra have trained the Nepali team.

Selected players: Ashish Thada, Srijan Shrestha, Ananta Tamang, Akash Thapa, Sudhan Thapa, Ujjwal Chemjong, Hemanta Thapa Magar, Gaurav Budhathoki, Ravi Bhandari, Bimal Gharti Magar, Suman Parajuli, Sugam Shrestha, Nishan Dhungana, Lalit Thapa, Sajan Rai and Shiva Subedi.
