ILAM, Oct 3: General Secretary of Nepali Congress (NC) Krishna Prasad Sitaula said on Wednesday that the country is currently on ´ventilator.´ He was also of the opinion that the tenure of the current government is fast coming to its end.
Talking to media persons at a press conference this morning, Sitaula also claimed that the NC-led consensus government would be formed within a month’s time. "If consensus is forged for an NC-led government, then our party would give the candidate’s name for the prime ministerial post within a minute," Sitaula said.
Coming down heavily on the ruling coalition, he said that the political deadlock is prolonging due to the ruling partners--UCPN (Maoist) and UDMF.
"This government has been prolonging the current deadlock in the country by dragging the president into controversy. The country has been pushed towards uncertainty due to Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai´s power greed," Sitaula said.
He also accused Bhattarai of announcing fresh polls unilaterally.
