Sujata slams idea of anti-govt protest

REPUBLICA ONLINE

KATHMANDU,Sept 29: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sujata Koirala on Saturday criticized the proposed street protest by opposition parties including her own party NC against the incumbent government.

Speaking at an interaction in the capital, she also predicted that the general people would not support the protest program. She, however, stressed on political consensus to find a replacement of the current government.

On the occasion, she also claimed that the exit of the incumbent Baburm Bhattarai-led government is inevitable at the moment as the country, which is facing constitutional crisis, cannot go ahead for long without full budget.

Opposition parties have said they will unveil their broader protest program on Monday, focusing on a range of issues including the government’s failure to control inflation.
