  PM Bhattarai visits Basantapur Durbar

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said we can take inspiration for building a new Nepal by learning a lesson from the history of Nepal.

Talking to media persons after visiting the Basantapur Durbar Wednesday, Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai said the government will give priority to protect and preserve heritages of the country with historical, cultural and archeological importance.

He said the Basantapur Durbar should be utilized for tourism development by preserving it.

Before this, the Prime Minister visited Kasthamandap, Kumarighar, Ganeshthan, Hanumandhoka Durbar Museum, Taleju Temple and Nautale Durbar and had acquired information about their historical importance. He also took information about the preparations for Indrajatra festival this year.

Various temples situated at Basantapur Durbar Square including Jagannath, Indreshwor Mahadev, Nilbarahi, Gangkuti Mahadev, Dhanusha, Laxminarayan, Shree Krishna Mahabishnu have been of late opened for the general public.

The Basantapur Durbar has been included in the World Heritage list from Nepal and is managed by Kathmandu Metropolis.
