POKHARA, Sept 25: The International Airport Construction Concern Committee formed by the locals in Pokhara to pile pressure on the government for the construction of the international airport has halted flights to and from Pokhara Airport for four hours from today.

The committee halted the regular flights for four hours from 8:00 am stating that the concerned authorities paid no heed to the committee´s demand. The committee has also continued its relay hunger strike started some weeks ago.

The committee has also urged the travel agencies and airlines companies not to sell the tickets and operate flights during the period of protests.

Committee´s coordinator Krishna Mohan Shrestha said that the folks of Pokhara would encircle the Singha Durbar on October 2 if the process to construct the airport was not forwarded by October 1.
