Chances of consensus govt under NC slim: Dahal

SANTOSH POKHAREL

POKHARA, Sept 24: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said on Monday that the possibility of the formation of a new government under the leadership of Nepali Congress (NC) is slim.

Speaking to media persons in Pokhara, he said, "According to an earlier agreement among the political parties, the formation of the consensus government would be under NC’s leadership but now it’s uncertain and the government could now be formed under any other party´s leadership as well."

The Maoist chairman, however, urged not to be skeptical about the formation of the consensus government. The talks among the political parties in that regard will resume Tuesday, he said.

Dahal who has been suffering from fever has reached Pokhara to take rest
