SOLUKHUMBU, Sept 17: A person was murdered in a Khukuri attack in Solukhumbu district Sunday night.
The deceased has been identified as Gadal Bahadur Rai, 27, of Deusa-8 in the district.
The incident took place after a local Bhupendra Rai, 21, attacked Gadal Bahadur at the house of Dhan Bahadur Rai of Deusa-5 in a minor dispute, it is learnt.
Gadal Bahadur had received injuries on his head and neck. Police said Gadal Bahadur was killed in a dispute that surfaced after consuming alcohol.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sudam Basnet, a team headed by police officer of the District Police Office has reached the incident site for further investigation.
Bhupendra has been absconding and search for him is underway, police said.
