KATHMANDU, Sept 15: Host Little Angel´s School (LA) secured top position on day one in the 13th LA Inter-school Swimming Championship that kicked off on Saturday at LA premises Hattiban. LA has 69 points and Lincoln with 57 points and The British School with 24 points are in second and third positions respectively.

In the girl´s event, Shreya Dhital of Lincoln won three gold and a bronze medals. Dhital claimed gold in 100 m individual medley and 50 m butterfly of above 15 years age category. Dhital clocked 1 minute 22.37 seconds to finish the medley and 35.41 seconds to finish the 50 m butterfly. Dhital´s team also took 4X50 m relay gold.

Dhital had to settle for a bronze in 50 m breaststroke in the same age category clocking 44.04 seconds. Lily Colston took home gold in the breaststroke finishing the distance in 43.88 seconds.

Miraj Prajapati of GoldenGate clinched gold in boy´s 100 m individual medley in above 15 years age group. Manila Pun of host LA and Rojan Rai of Dikshyanta Academy won U-10 girl´s and boy´s gold in 25 m breaststroke.

Oshina Bharati of St Mary´s took gold in 11-12 years girl´s 50 m breaststroke while Sandip Rai of LA took 13-14 years boy´s gold in same age group. Anjali Shyangbo of The British School and Samrakshan Thapa of LA took gold in girl´s and boy´s 50 m breaststroke of 13-14 years age category.

Miraj Prajapati won another gold for GoldenGate in boy´s 50 m breaststroke in above 15 years age group. Nawang Dolma of HIMS won gir´s 25 m butterfly in U-10 age section and Annan Lama of Golden Peak won gold in boy´s section.

Oshina Bharati of St Mary´s secured first position in 50 m girl´s butterfly in 11-12 age group, while Pasang Sherpa of LA took boy´s 50 m butterfly in same age section. Similarly, 50 m butterfly title of 13-14 age group went to Sisir Thapa of LA in boy´s section and Anjali Syangbo of The British School in girl´s section.
Manish Chitrakar of HIMS finished first in boy´s 50 m butterfly of above 15 years age section. LA, HIMS and Lincoln secured top three positions respectively in 4X50 m boy´s open medley relay.
