PARASI, Sept 14: A girl who was held captive in Gujarat, India for two months has been rescued. She is 14-year-old Lalita Gupta of Padari village, Sanai VDC-9 in Nawalparasi district.
Nathu Prasad Gupta, the girl´s father, rescued her with the help of the Gujarat Police. Acting on a tip-off, Gupta himself went to Gujarat and rescued his daughter.
Lalita was kidnapped on July 9, 2012 from her house by two unidentified persons who came on a motorcycle. They died her mouth and whisked her away.
According to the girl´s parents, five people including Joginder Yadav of Hukai VDC-5 and Binod Yadav of Bodawar VDC-7, Rupandehi district, are involved in the abduction of their daughter. They are planning to file a case against them at the District Court.
Meanwhile, locals at Mukundapur in Nawalparasi district have rescued a girl who was being trafficked to India. They caught the people involved in illegally taking the girl towards India probably with the purpose of selling her to a brothel in India, and handed them over to the Ilaka Police Office, Gaindakot.
