SOLUKHUMBHU, Sept 13: Students at the Janakalyan Higher Secondary School, Jubu in Solukhumbu district have forced their school to close after a lady teacher at the school charged one of the male teacher of raping her.

Ranjeeta Ban alleged her teacher colleague Kumar Basnet of making false promises of marrying her and having sex.

She lodged a complaint with the school administration alleging Basnet of cheating her. She stated that Basnet was now refusing to marry her.

The students have disrupted classes since Monday after this scandal came to light, calling for a thorough and independent probe into the allegation and for taking stern action against the culprit.

Basnet, however, vehemently denies making any promises to Ban or having sex with her.

Police have taken both teachers involved in the scandal into custody for investigation, the District Police Office, Salleri stated.
