PARSA, Sept 13: The Parsa District Court on Wednesday issued arrest warrants against 13 journalists including one central committee member of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) on contempt of court charges.
A team of journalists led by FNJ central committee member Mahesh Das carried out vandalism on the court premises on September 10 saying the court´s decision was not in their favour.
The court issued arrest warrants against the journalists for using abusive language against the judges and hurting their dignity.
The court has issued arrest warrants against Das, FNJ Parsa District Chapter advisor Krishna Chandra Lamichhane, president of Press Chautari, Parsa Branch Shyam Banjara, FNJ member Govinda Devkota and Shreeram Rayamajhi, among others.
