UML Secretary Pokharel warns of stiff protest

RSS

RUKUM, Sept 8: Secretary of the CPN-UML Shanker Pokhrel has warned that his party would organize stern protests from mid-September.

Speaking at a news conference organized by Press Chautari Nepal, Rukum Chapter, he said the protest against the incumbent government is inevitable due to Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai´s working style.

In a different note, he said the best alternative to the current political crisis was fixing the date for elections forging consensus on the disputed issues of the constitution that appeared during the constitution writing in the Constituent Assembly or going to new elections through the due process.

UML leader Pokhrel stressed the need of President´s active role to preserve the constitution as he was the preserver and protector of the interim constitution.
