  Gurung nets 4 goals as Nepal thrashes Pakistan 8-0

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: Jamuna Gurung scored four goals as Nepal defeated Pakistan 8-0 at the opening match of the Women’s SAFF Championship-2012 Tournament being played in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Gurung scored the goals during the 9th, 32nd, 34th and 44th minutes of the match. Anu Lama scored 2 goals on the 16th and 51st minutes of the match while Srijana Rana and Deepa Adhikari also scored a goal each on the 42nd and 72nd minutes of the match respectively.

Nepali players completely dominated the Pakistani players throughout the match.

Nepal took lead of 6-0 at the half time while two more goals were added in the second-half.

Nepal had also defeated Pakistan 12-0 at the first edition of the SAFF Championship held in Dhaka in 2010.

Pakistan was beaten by Nepal 7-0 during the 11th South Asian Games in Bangladesh in 2010 as well.
