  BUSINESS BRIEFS: Etihad offers up to 40% discount

KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Etihad Airways has offered up to 40 percent discount on flights from Kathmandu to Europe, Middle East and Africa. “The discount applies to both economy class and pearl business class on selected booking class for the travel period between September 10 and March 13, 2013,” the airline said in a statement on Wednesday.

In order to avail the discount, the purchase should be made by September 7.

Janata Bank to give 3.68% cash dividend

KATHMANDU
: Janata Bank has decided to provide 3.68 percent cash dividend to its shareholders, a bank statement said on Wednesday. A meeting of board of directors finalized the rate of dividend on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the bank collected total deposit of Rs 7.72 billion and issued loan of Rs 7.46 billion till the last fiscal year. “The deposit increased by 120.59 percent and loan disbursement rose by 108.17 percent compared to the previous fiscal year,” the statement added.

Bird Mobile unveils touchscreen phone

KATHMANDU
: Gadget Nepal -- the sole authorized distributor of Bird mobile for Nepal -- has introduced K6 (Blue Dove) handset in the domestic market, targeting consumers who love to use touchscreen mobile in low budget. According to a press statement, K6 mobile has 1.3 mp camera, dual-SIM, wireless FM and video recording function. Apart from that, the phone comes with up to 4 GB expandable storage. Price at Rs 2,290, the set is available in three different colors -- black, grey and chocolate.

Zenith Technology launches ´Nano PC´

KATHMANDU
: Zenith Technology has launched ultra-thin compact IT product called ´Nano PC´, a press statement of the company said. The PC, manufactured by Foxconn features Intel Dual Core Atom D2500, 1.86 GHz processor. According to the statement the PC weighs only 450g and has a dimension of 19cm x13 cm x 2.5 cm.“They are ideal for home and business computers and can be customized according to the customer´s requirement,” the statement further said that Nano PC could be the best option for those seeking completely cable free system.
