BANEPA, Sept 4: A bus conductor died and 20 students were injured in a school bus accident in Kabhrepalanchowk district on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Karan Shrestha.
The bus ( Ba 2 Kha 1324) carrying the students of Ugrachandi Boarding School fell 20 meters from the road at Bayang Dungha in Nala VDC while trying to avoid a heap of sand dumped on the road side.
“Our bus slid off the road while trying to avoid a heap of sand on the roadside,” said injured Deepak Raj Giri, another conductor of the bus. The injured students have been taken to Scheer Memorial Hospital at Banepa. According to the hospital, all the students have suffered multiple injuries.
