KATHMANDU, Sept 3: Western Volleyball Training Center and Armed Police Force secured berths in the semifinals of women´s section during the First NVA Cup Men´s and Women´s National Club Volleyball Championship on Monday.
Western thrashed Eastern Volleyball Club 25-7, 25-8, 25-6 to reach the semifinals. APF also entered the last four from Group B as Eastern crashed out of the tournament following its second consecutive defeat.
Nepal Police Club (NPC) and New Diamond Club have already confirmed their places in the semifinals from Group A. NPC defeated New Diamond 25-19, 25-14, 25-12 on Monday to top the group.
In another match of Group A, Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center struggled past Mid-western Volleyball Club 18-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-20 but the result didn´t affect the semifinal equation as both the teams were already out of the contest.
Meanwhile, Nepal Army secured a berth in the quarterfinals of men´s section from Group C defeating Nepal Sports Club of Far-western Region 25-13, 25-8, 25-15.
Likewise, University Sports Association and G-4 Sports Club, Dolakha won their respective group stage matches on Monday. University eased past Dhorpatan Sports Training Center 25-13, 25-20, 25-17 while G-4 defeated Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Center 25-15, 23-25, 25-19, 25-21.
